Utterly Convinced

I did this painting when a friend asked me to create a piece based around some lyrics. I wanted the lyrics to take precedence, so the figure is most visible only when the paint around it is shining in direct light.

Thanks to You I'm Like a Bird Broken Free

This piece was actually inspired by three songs. One gave the visual of the bird breaking free, another lent the lyrics in the cage and the lyrics outside the cage came from another song.
LOVE music and it's power to inspire and evoke emotion, thought, and creativity!

Peace

I've heard this hundreds of times, but it finally clicked when I heard it in a song the other day. I love those "AHA" moments!

Creating this little canvas was an experiment that contains A LOT of layers.

Rebirth

This was my final project for an art class. The assignment: create a painting/drawing that depicts a word. I chose "Rebirth," but if you look closely you'll also see "metamorphosis" and "life."

ALIVE

I took a class this year that was so amazing that I really had no words to accurately describe it, so I attempted to encapsulate my feelings in this piece.

Crabby Collage

I created this for my college roommate and dear friend when she was expecting her baby boy. Crabs are her favorite, so she went with a nautical theme for her little one.

Everything

After expressing that I had been so busy and hadn't been spending enough time with God. A friend told me that rather than illustrating our lives as a checklist of things to do ("God time" being one of them), our lives are like a wheel. God is at the center of the wheel and he is integrally involved in everything we do (work, school, relationships, etc). This is what came to my mind.

I love the way Indian elephants are so ornately dressed and decorated. I've liked them since I was a kid; my grandmother had a set of carved elephants that I admired when I was younger. This piece is inspired by those elephants...
